One of my biggest dreams coming true.... finally in Rio

On December 2nd, I landed in Rio de Janeiro, planning to stay for two and a half months...and it’s hard to put into words how intense and meaningful that time was for me.

It was a dream come true. I had waited nine years to go to Brazil, to Rio, and especially to my favorite Brazilian Zouk dance school. And suddenly, it was real. At first, I was scared... I had all the usual fears about safety, about being robbed. But over time, I learned to feel the city, to understand what was truly risky and what wasn’t.

Rio turned out to be the most photogenic city I’ve ever seen. But more than that, it was the way I lived the present moment there. I hadn’t experienced anything like it. Day after day, I stayed. I didn’t travel anywhere else in Brazil, not even to São Paulo. And that was strange for me, because I’d always moved from place to place, wanting to see everything. But in Rio, I felt no urge to leave. It was enough. Completely enough.

When I finally left, I realized I wanted to come back with a visa, to stay longer, and keep living that energy.
